WHAT TO EXPECT FROM OUR PROGRAMS

More Than A Drum Circle

Drum Circles provide several health and medical benefits and are always fun and entertaining.  However, they can become very redundant and tedious when facilitating the same program regularly; participants may lose interest.  As a result, we bring great innovation to the drum circle, music appreciation, tailored music that best suits our audience, and versatility in activities.  Every month we focus on a different musical theme on a style of music, artist, or music from another country.  Participants receive informational handouts of that theme, and a presentation/discussion is given under the program.  In addition, several different therapeutic exercises and musical activities are performed that provide numerous health benefits, participation, and fun.  While we repeat some of the same exercises regularly to develop retention, new activities are also introduced.  This has developed continuity working with clients on a regular basis.

Moreover, participants have also been able to use different parts of their body and brain to build muscle, alertness, memory, thinking, and physical coordination to name a few. The musical themes provide wonderful insight and education for every participant, regardless if they ever played an instrument or not!  They keep their minds active, learning key highlights of that style of music or artist.  They are jamming along to the music of that theme, using their rhythmic skills and releasing stress.  Finally, they are all working together, which has encouraged openness, team-building, and a sense of community in the drum circle!
